Acting Mayor's Column I am delighted the Oberon International Women's Day dinner will be held at 6.30pm on Friday 8 March 2004 at the Oberon Library and Community Centre. The Guest speaker will be Dominica Koudrinand Eugenia Miroshnikoff. Councillors Katie Graham, Helen Hayden and Lauren Trembath will be attending. In the coming weeks Council staff will be reviewing submissions and preparing information for Councillors on the results of the complete Community Consultation process There has been a considerable amount of roadworks being undertaken in Oberon Council area by Council staff and contractors. This has included the substrata stabilisation and then heavy patching of the following roads; Mt David Road, Dog Rocks Road, Shooters Hill Road, Hazelgrove Road and Abercrombie Road. This has created some travel delays for many of us but will significantly improve the worst pothole and subsiding areas of these roads. Oberon residents will have seen the asphalting work in Dart Street to improve the surface. There will also be works undertaken in the coming weeks at the southern entrance (Goulburn/Taralga side) at Black Springs to widen the pavement and allow for easier turning by trucks. A "Welcome to Oberon Function" will be held on 20 March 2024 from 3pm to 4.30pm for people who have moved to Oberon in the last 2 years. This function will be held at the Oberon Library and Community Centre. We encourage you to attend if you have recently moved to Oberon to meet Councillors and others from the Community.
