OBERON MORE THAN YOU IMAGINE OBERON COUNCIL Determinations - May 2024 Mayor's Column Late last week it was announced by Heritage Railway NSW that a 120-year-old Locomotive would be moved to the Oberon Tarana Heritage Railway (OTHR) later this month On Monday 17 June 2024 Locomotive 3085 arrived, by truck, at about 5.00am and was lifted into place on the tracks in the OTHR compound by two huge cranes. 3805 was the second last steam locomotive, and the last of its class, to operate in NSW and this particular locomotive spent a number of years operating out of Bathurst. The arrival of the locomotive this morning was the culmination of over wo years of work by OTHR volunteers and Transport Heritage NSW to arrange for the loan of the Locomotive. The NSW State Government's ongoing funding for Transport Heritage for NSW has enabled the locomotive's continued preservation and relocation to Oberon. OTHR plans to renovate 3805 to become a centre piece static display for all visitors to OTHR to enjoy. 3085 10.2024.81 Two (2) lot residential Subdivision 19.2024.6.1 Install On-site Wastewater System 10.2023.67.1 New Club House and Amenities 69 Curtis Street OBERON NSW 2787 1325 Hazelgrove Road OBERON NSW 2787 Abercrombie Road OBERON NSW 2787 2783 Modification to existing DA 10.2019.25.1-9-21 Cunynghame Street OBERON NSW 10.2019.252 Enclosure to rear of gym 18.2023.10.1 Change of Use to Timber Yard Extension to Green Mill Building 11.2024.6.3 102023281 112023281 New Disabled Toilet 10.2024.18.1 New Dwelling 18.2018 21.4 Aterations & Additions to Dwelling Modification to existing CDC 18.2018.21.3 10 Sirius Street OBERON NSW 2787 63 Lowes Mount Road OBERON NSW 2787 129-139 Queen Street OBERON NSW 2787 30 Inverness Place OBERON NSW 2787 3 Albert Street OBERON NSW 2787 New Dwelling & Install on-site Wastewater 32 Moray Place OBERON NSW 2787 System 18.2024.4.1 19.2024.7.1 18.2024.2.1 New Shed 33 Bligh Street OBERON NSW 2787 Some members of OTHR in front of 3805 at its new home The installation of solar panels and battery storage has been completed at the Visitor Information Centre. This was a grant funded project under the Community Building Partnerships program and will provide a tangible saving in Council's power and build upon the Councils use of renewable energy. This is the first solar installation in a series of four Council Buildings being fitted with solar arrays and batteries. In the next few months the Gym, Pool and Library will all be fitted with a solar/battery package under a different grant funding program to further lower our electricity costs. Council currently sources 50% of its electricity needs from renewable sources. The Black Springs Hall has recently been provided with a number of new chairs. That of course means there are around 250 chairs that are no longer required. Council is seeking expressions of interest from organisations and/or individuals interested in taking some of these chairs. The chairs are predominantly Orange and Green. Preference in allocating the chairs will be given to community groups and not for profit organisations within the community. If you want to have a look at the chairs prior to committing, contact Mat Webb (Mathew.Webb@oberon.nsw.gov.au or 6329 8100.
